Auchenflower Reinstatement | PM Appointment

Brisbane Basketball Inc (BBI) has made two necessary steps towards reinstating Auchenflower Stadium over the last fortnight. BBI has finalised the insurance claim related to the 2022 weather event. BBI challenged the initial determination of the cause of the damage, which has delayed the venue reinstatement. However, by proving that the cause of the damage was overland flow, BBI was able to double the insurance payout.

The second significant advancement was the appointment of COHA Group as Project Manager for the reinstatement project. BBI GM Hamish Cain said that COHA was a standout; “COHA has a great track record of delivering sporting infrastructure projects. We believe Paul Coory MAIPM and his team at COHA greatly understand our goals for this project as we look to reinstate in a more resilient way, future-proofing the venue for the next 30 years”. The project will be headed up by Paul and Morgan Jones. You can find out more about COHA Group here: https://cohagroup.com.au

In the coming weeks, we will have more information regarding the project. This information will be available on our website, social media channels, and newsletters. To the basketball community, thank you for your patience and understanding over the last 14 months.

BBI would like to acknowledge the Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport for the CRARRP funding that will assist with the delivery of this project.
